Lunch at the Craftsman, Cannington

I had the Seafood Skewers. Three skewers of salmon, prawn and a scallop with a nicoise salad. It was delicious! I gave Mum a skewer. The prawns were just gorgeous.
Mum had the Smoked Chicken and Macadamia Salad. The smokey flavour and the macadamias together really lifted the salad to make it sublime.

What Did You Think if my Month of Harcombe?

And now February is over!

And I have posted photos of my food for most of the month. It was a funny month, as the car absorbed all our spare money, so a lot of the decisions about food reflected the priorities of both health and cost. I hope you enjoyed this month, and we've got some exciting ideas for the next Month of ... Pictorials.

So how does every one feel for having made it this far with us? Did you enjoy seeing what we had for dinner? Were there too many photos? Would two or three times a week have been better, or perhaps once a week and interspersed with some actual posts?

Let me know what you think! Comment below and tell us! Thanks for keeping us company this month - I had a ball!

Day 29 - A Month of Harcombe

CBF lunch again :)
I got the phone ready... and then forgot to get a pic before Itucked into the fish. It was so good! Coleslaw with dijonnaise and steamed green beans with buttered fish.

Day 27 - A Month of Harcombe (Green Sludge Edition)

Lunch! Chicken leg and salad :)
Corned beef, carrot and green sludge. Um. I used two frozen blocks of spinach and a frozen cream tub to make the sludge. It was yummy ... but... sludgey....

Day 26 - A Month of Harcombe (Plus A Sneak Preview!)

I made an omelette! And it worked! Yay! Filling is some cheese and last night's left over vegies.
Chicken leg and salad with home made balsamic vinaigrette. It amazes me sometimes how colourful my food is!
Less colourful but a win none the less! Roasted pumpkin with stuffed eggplant (aubergine). It was stuffed with the left over mince from the taco/curry mince a couple of nights ago, stopped with some cheese and baked. Delish!
The Sneak Preview! I have been working very hard on another Saucy Sisters' project... expect some big news soon!

Day 24 - A Month of Harcombe

John's lunch
My lunch! Skirt steak and mushroom stirfry. A test run to make sure the meat was OK for stirfrying.
Oyster sauce stirfry with dim sims from the freezer. The dim sims were totally NOT in diet, but the stir fry was.

Day 23 - A Month of Harcombe

Lunch! Was a little bit of dinner with a chicken leg.
Osso bucco from the other night. Just as lovely. :)

Day 22 - A Month of Harcombe

Lunch comprised of nuked leftovers.
Dinner is a lettuce taco thingy. It turns out the powder wasn't a home made taco mix, so there was a bit of a scramble to make it less curry-like and more taco-like. And it was a win!
John scored some yummies at work. This is a lime, capsicum and garlic salsa, and has only 2.9grams of sugar per 100gs! Not only an awesome score, but an awesome score within diet! Yay!

Day 21 - A Month of Harcombe

Lunch! Chicken, salad. No dressing.
Osso bucco and green beans. Delish! There's some orange rind in the osso bucco which just makes it awesome.

Day 20 - A Month of Harcombe

Kale in cream with shallots
Unidentified Frozen Object - a watery apricot chicken.

I did a rowing class today as well as 30 minutes of walking, and I have a callous! It's not a blister, it's a callous! How callous of the callous! (I am sure I am spelling one of these wrong, but the spell checker is NOT HELPING ME. So you're all going to have to suffer.)

Day 19 - A Month of Harcombe (The Chocolate Mousse and Chocolate Fudgecake Day)

Chocolate mousse! When made with the right chocolate, it's diet friendly!
I used a kiddy plate for my lunch today, and my dinner too. A small chicken thigh, some ham, coleslaw, salad, a couple of home made sausage rolls. And some chocolate mousse of course!
I tasted a crumb, because after all I did make it so I had to. It was... cakey.
Today I served up a megabatch of chocolate mousse and a megabatch of fudgecake! It was Nanna's birthday, and a chance to meet my 8 week old second cousin Amelia.

Does any one else do celebration cakes? What is your favourite cake, and who did you make it for?

Day 17 and 18 - A Month of Harcombe

Carrot and cheese salad with a mushroom and some capsicum.
The view from Oakover Winery. I scammed into Layla's wedding!
Honey mustard roast beef, salad, buttered vegetables, chicken in a tomato and olive sauce, and fish with lemon buerre blanc. For dessert there was a rather fine cheese platter with a gorgeous blue and a few other cheeses. Plus a fruit platter. Yum!
Today's lunch, scoffed at the KSP during the break in a workshop. Bacon and eggs for breakfast. :)
Bak ket teh for dinner. :)

Day 15 and 16 - A Month of Harcombe

Bacon and eggs!
Chicken legs and salad
Chicken legs in a sausage casseroley thing
The only pic from today. Strawberries and cream!
Today was a bit of a rush. I had some blood taken this morning for some tests, which meant that my system was thrown out of whack! I forgot most of today's meals I'm afraid.

Day 14 - A Month of Harcombe (Now with Stunt Sausage)

Roast beef, pumpkin, beans, peas, carrots at a food hall. No gravy or potato and I didn't eat much of the carrots. They were yucky! The rest was good though.
Steak, buttered zucchini with shallots, and a stunt sausage. It's a stunt sausage because it's a stand in for the photo. This is not the sausage I was eating before... :)
Forgot breakfast again! Oops. (Forgot as in forgot to eat it... other than a coffee!)

Day 11 and 12 - A Month of Harcombe Day

Bacon, egg and hash (breakfast)
Sausages and salad and mushrooms. (Lunch) Dinner was left over salad and porterhouse steaks. Plus I had some munchies at a party but I forgot to get a pic!
Lunch with Triffid and D and family. Harcombe recipe - Moroccan beef, served with cauli-rice.
Dinner was left over Moroccan Beef with cauli-rice.
I had another migraine today! Made me very unhappy. What does every one else do when they know there's a migraine on the way?

Day 10 - A Month of Harcombe

Lunch! Roast chicken and vegetables with gravy, microwaved.
Breakfast plus a coffee with cream in it.

I forgot to get dinner! Ah well. It was roast pork with steamed vegies, and buttered zucchini (yum!)

I had a migraine today, so I'm not quite functioning properly. Sorry about the weird formatting, it's just not working for me and I am too migrainey to sort it out!

Day 9 - A Month of Harcombe - The Day Spa Experience

This was dessert at lunch, but I figured every one must be bored of bacon and egg pics on FB by now. :) Not diet friendly.
Champagne, fruit, cheese, crackers, dried fruit and nuts... not entirely diet friendly either.
Ooooo, fats and carbs! Definitely not Harcombe compliant. Tasty enough if too sweet for me!
Spa... good... champagne.... good...
Leftovers of dinner as I forgot to take the pic! I had one chicken leg and a couple of vegies. I was still full from lunch!
If I'd thought of it, I would have talked about my food requirements when Mum made the booking. I didn't think of it. And I was so pleased to just be somewhere that was going to tell me what to do!

The day spa was just gorgeous and they took such excellent care of me. There was a definite sorrow about putting my normal clothing back on and then entering the real world again.
